Dear School District Community,
The Nyack Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacey-Anne McDonald to fill the vacant trustee seat and serve as the seventh board member for Nyack Public Schools.
At the Special Board Meeting on December 9, the trustees discussed the applicants, made nominations, and ultimately voted to select Ms. McDonald as the final choice, effective immediately. She will be sworn in this week by our District Clerk and will begin her work on the Board.
Ms. McDonald is a dedicated and accomplished educator with extensive experience in special education and Academic Intervention Services in Rockland County. Over the years, Ms. McDonald has contributed to the district in numerous meaningful ways, including serving on hiring committees, PTA committees, and the District Wellness Committee. She has also been an active participant in the Red & Black Club. Her continued commitment to collaboration, equity, and student success has shaped her work and leadership within the community.
Ms. McDonald will serve until the next annual election on May 19, 2026.
As a Board, we extend our sincere appreciation to all the candidates who put their names forward during this special appointment process. We value the thoughtful and robust responses provided in the questionnaire, which reflect a community deeply committed to service. We look forward to continued and growing stakeholder engagement that mirrors the beautiful diversity of our school community.
